Excel 2007

Office 2007 has now been on general release for over 2 years. Office 2007 deployments have been as limited as expected in our large corporate clients. But Service Pack 2 is now out, and there are finally signs of movement.

There are some great new features in the latest version of Excel. Unfortunately there are some serious challenges for developers (and experienced users) with the new parts of the interface.

We recently completed a move to Office 2007 for a large international client. It is important to see the move to 2007 as a 'migration' and not simply an 'upgrade'. This is because there are so many changes, not least to the user interface.

We have several commercial tools available to assist with the migration.

Classic Ribbon tab puts back the menus from Excel 2003 so commands are findable for experienced users.

We can also assist with your migration project - there are many breaking changes to be aware of.

We now provide full support and development services for all Excel versions from 97-2007. Including XLM macros from Excel V4.

As part of the Microsoft Office Developer Advisory Council, Codematic are working with Microsoft on the developer features of the next version of Office.

We now have the technical preview and have confirmed all our commercial tools work fine with the current version. We will of course continue to check as new versions are made available to us testers.
